Programs for Men

Mankind Project is a peer-facilitated support group that helps men deepen skills for conflict resolution, listening, emotional intelligence, goal achievement, and healthy boundary setting. Mankind Project meets on  Wednesdays 7:00 – 9:15.

Breaking Bread Project is a Black culturally focused project that promotes leadership capacity – personal and public positive mental health, community-building, self-actualization, inner-group conflict reduction, protective-health practices, and personal responsibility for one’s sexual and behavioral health. The curriculum teaches participants critical thinking, health and wellness education and cultural literacy, stressing the importance of celebrating positive elements of Black history, diversity, life, family, self-concept, sexuality and culture, and of acknowledging how varying levels of oppression and related traumas contribute to unhealthy attitudes, impulses, risky behaviors and barriers to seeking needed HIV/STD/Wellness services. Breaking Bread meets every 2nd and 4th Friday from 6:30-10 PM
