Community Services

The Shawnna Alexander Helping Hands Clothing Closet is a monthly program that provides community members with a unique “shopping” experience for free, gently used clothing items.

Our clothing closet is currently full to the brim with loving donations from members of our community. That means we have a one bag/one box limit on donations. Donations can be dropped off at the Center during our business hours (M 10 am – 6 pm; Tues – Friday 10 am – 10 pm, Closed on Weekends). The Shawnna Alexander Helping Hands Clothing Closet is held on 4th Thursdays from 3-7 PM

New Volunteer Orientation is a monthly volunteer training for folks who wish to volunteer at the GLCCB. At this monthly orientation, volunteers are educated about the history of the GLCCB, our current program offerings, volunteer opportunities and the Center’s expectations for volunteers. New Volunteer Orientation is held on 4th Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30 PM

Free Legal Clinic with MLVS is a monthly legal intake clinic. Community members can sign up to get screened for civil legal needs, including expunging qualifying arrest and conviction records as well as addressing consumer protection and debt, housing, and domestic legal issues – MLVS will then assist community members with being matched to a volunteer attorney who could provide free legal representation.  Free Legal Clinic with MLVS takes place every 2nd Tuesday from 1-4 PM
